Project Overview
This fantasy product package was created just for Philadelphia's "Please Touch Museum", to be used in their SuperMarket exhibit. Kids learn how to shop with a hands on fake store, letting them pick out products they would want to buy. They wanted a baked product that was not only imaginary, but also not similar to a real company's product.
To make sure the fantasy effect was achieved, I designed the package in a 1950's style, and to add extra flare I developed my own product mascot (as was the de facto standard at the time). "Professor Wonder" is an original illustration, shaded using halftone overprinting.
Includes a bunch of original logos, namely "Society Hill Bakery", "Apple Wonders", "Orange Sunset Tea Biscuits", and "Snaps Crunchy Cookies".

My Statement
This project was a lot of fun to put together, but it was certainly a challenge to really pull off the 50's feel. It took a lot of reference collecting and studying to get a good understanding of the beautiful tackiness that was so prevalent. Type is one of my strongest points, so I could really let loose with the retro treatments.
